Marike as a person
I am a seasoned international HR interim and project manager with a Master’s in educational science. I have a great deal of experience in building the HR function and managing HR projects and processes in established, complex organisations as well as in business start-ups, in profit and not-for-profit environments. I managed the change in business restructuring programmes and organisation (culture) development projects. I have led international HR teams, and I have worked with people from many different cultures. I am used to working with a great variety of internal and external stakeholders, including works councils.
My strengths include my capability of combining a long-term vision with short-term objectives without missing the deadline. Strategy and implementation are inextricably connected in my approach. I make complex problems comprehensible and clear. I get things moving. I infuse energy into projects and people, I create confidence and commitment. I focus on collaboration and aim at lasting results. I have worked on projects in Cardiff, Geneva and Singapore, and I love international travel.
I focus on the end result and work with a clear project plan, tangible objectives and deadlines for people to meet. Optimism, transparency, creativity and energy are among the qualities that help me realise my goals.
Giving direction, adding structure and encouraging people to develop are essential in my approach. I get people committed to the plans, foster their mutual connections and enhance their commitments to their (shared) objectives. I set great store by good contact with clients and inform them whenever this is relevant. My ‘can do’ mentality leads to recognised results at all levels, operational as well as executive.
I like to look at things more deeply: why are they happening the way they are? I want to find out what is actually going on in the dynamics of the organisation. My corporate anthropology training comes in handy.
